Lizzy Borden House and Bed & Breakfast
In 1892, Fall River became the center of one of America's most famous and brutal unsolved murder cases when Andrew and Abby Borden were found axed to death in their home. Andrew's daughter, Lizzie Borden, was accused, tried and later acquitted of the murders, but the mystery remains. Today, the restored Lizzie Borden House offers guided tours, overnight stays, and a fascinating glimpse into this enduring piece of American history.
Founded in 1921, the Fall River Historical Society preserves the city's rich heritage through an extensive collection of artifacts, photographs, textiles, furnishings, and local history exhibits. Housed in a beautifully preserved historic mansion, the museum is currently closed while undergoing major infrastructure renovations and is expected to reopen in Winter 2026 with enhanced exhibits and visitor experiences.
